A Kate Spade Tribute πŸ‘›πŸ™πŸ»πŸ–€

Kate Spade

At the beginning of June month, news broke that the iconic fashion designer Kate Spade had been found dead in her New York home, to what was later confirmed to be a suicide.
Shocked fans, friends and colleagues took the internet to share their memories of how her designs had shaped them. And we at Imagine a Lady couldn’t go without doing a tribute to such an iconic, authentic and visionary woman.

Dear Kate,
We thank you for the your quirky visual language and how you passed it on to your designs, which became accessories to so many women who wear them with all the confidence in the world. You created the perfect combination of sleek, utilitarian shapes and colourful palettes in an entirely unique way. You left your imprint in the fashion industry which encourages personal style and freedom to live colorfully!

Katherine Noel Brosnahan, known professionally as Kate Spade and/or Kate Valentine, was an american fashion designer and businesswoman, she first started her career at the fashion magazine Mademoiselle where she worked in the accessories department. That’s when she identified a market for quality stylish handbags, and in 1993 Kate Spade built two successful empires, Kate Spade New York and Frances Valentine.

The world lost a woman that gave so much to the industry and made such an impact, she was a game-changer, and we are sure her designs will keep on inspiring future generations as they are timeless.
According to her business partner, Spade left 4 seasons worth of designs for Frances Valentine. Even though the brand haven’t made a statement about the long-term future of the company, we are confident they will beautifully carry on the vision that was so authentic to Kate.
