This exhibition was one of fascination, sadness and intimacy, but what struck us most of all was her story.

Imagine that your lover did everything possible to keep your most intimate personal possessions out of the worlds eyes: your colourful drawings and luxurious fetish jewels; pictures of you taken by one of your lovers who shared your fears; and paintings of your doctors who supported you through your long life disease. All of this has now come out of hiding and these treasures are now on display for the world to see! We feel that this exhibition has successfully managed to share a complex and colourful life. Frida Kahlo has become an icon in recent years, probably against the will of her loving husband, but in the end at least we now know a little bit about her.
